First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests whether an eye-tracking communication tool can help conscious ICU patients who cannot speak (due to breathing tubes or injuries) communicate more easily. Researchers will compare the eye-tracking tool to standard methods like writing boards or body language. Forty adult ICU patients will use the tool for two days, and the study measures how difficult communication feels and patients' sense of well-being and safety.
