Eye tissue thickness measured in macular disease patients and healthy adults
NCT ID NCT06723288
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study measured the thickness of the conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule (outer eye layers) in 736 people with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) or diabetic macular edema (DME), and in healthy volunteers of similar age. Researchers used a special eye scanner (SD-OCT) to take these measurements. No treatment was given; the goal was to collect data that may help doctors better understand eye anatomy in these conditions.
