Urine particles may reveal kidney health secrets

NCT ID NCT04700631

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at tiny particles called extracellular vesicles found in urine to see if they can help tell the difference between healthy kidneys and chronic kidney disease. Researchers measured these particles in 143 adults—some healthy and some with kidney problems. The goal was to find normal and abnormal levels that could one day help doctors track kidney disease without invasive tests.
