First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a long-acting painkiller called Exparel (liposomal bupivacaine) can control pain better after open or laparoscopic hernia repair. Nineteen adults having hernia surgery received Exparel along with standard care. Researchers measured patient satisfaction with pain control and time spent in recovery. The goal is to find a way to manage post-surgery pain with fewer opioids.
