First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests a new surgical technique called Expansion-floating Craniotomy for people with life-threatening brain swelling after a massive stroke. The new method aims to relieve pressure on the brain while keeping the skull bone in place, potentially avoiding a second surgery needed with the standard approach. About 356 adults aged 18 to 80 will take part to see if the new method works as well as the standard one.
