First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether regular exercise or the drug metformin works better for controlling blood sugar in people with prediabetes. 226 adults with prediabetes were split into two groups: one did moderate exercise, the other took metformin for 12 weeks. Researchers measured changes in blood sugar and weight to see which approach was more effective in a real-world, low-resource community setting.
