First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether exercising in the morning or early evening makes a difference in blood pressure and blood vessel health for postmenopausal women with high blood pressure. Sixty-eight women did walking and handgrip exercises at different times of day. The goal was to see if timing could improve how well exercise lowers blood pressure.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

exercise (walking and handgrip exercise)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help people with high blood pressure choose the best time of day to exercise for better blood pressure control.

What could go wrong

This is a small, completed study with only 68 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The effects of exercise timing may be modest and not change standard advice.
