NCT ID NCT04558398

First seen Apr 30, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 30, 2026

Summary

This study looked at how colorectal and prostate cancer affect the energy centers (mitochondria) in muscle cells, and whether a 4-week home exercise program could improve them. Fifteen men awaiting surgery for these cancers did either resistance training or high-intensity interval training at home. Researchers measured mitochondrial activity and muscle function before and after the program to see if exercise could help.
