First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a supplement called HMB to an exercise program can help older adults (ages 60-80) with type 2 diabetes and low muscle mass gain muscle, get stronger, and improve insulin resistance. About 120 participants will be randomly assigned to exercise, HMB, both, or placebo for a period. The goal is to find the best way to manage muscle loss and blood sugar in this group.
