Teens with scoliosis may benefit from targeted exercise combo

NCT ID NCT07319702

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a combination of two exercise methods (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and spiral muscle chain training) can improve posture, spinal flexibility, and back muscle endurance in teenagers aged 13 to 18 with spinal curvature issues like scoliosis or kyphosis. 189 participants were split into three groups: one did one type of exercise, another did the other type, and the third did both. They exercised three times a week for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if the combined approach works better than either exercise alone.
