First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a structured home-based exercise program combining strength and aerobic training can improve quality of life, fitness, and immune function in 150 men with prostate cancer. Participants are randomly assigned to either the exercise program or usual care. The program uses resistance bands and bodyweight exercises, with training 3-6 days per week for at least 12 weeks. The goal is to see if exercise can reduce side effects like fatigue, muscle loss, and depression.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

structured combined resistance and aerobic training

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a simple, home-based exercise program to improve quality of life and physical fitness for men with prostate cancer.

What could go wrong

This is a relatively small, early-stage study (150 participants) testing a behavioral intervention, so results may not be generalizable. Participants must be motivated to exercise 3-6 days per week, and adherence may vary.
