First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This pilot study tested whether a program combining education and group exercise could reduce joint pain caused by aromatase inhibitors (AI) in older breast cancer survivors (aged 60+). Twelve women who were about to start AI medication were randomly assigned to either standard care or the exercise-plus-education program. The study measured pain levels, medication adherence, and knowledge at several points over 12 months to see if the program helped manage side effects and improve quality of life.
