First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a long-term exercise program could help people with dementia living in nursing homes keep their ability to do everyday tasks like bathing and dressing. 140 people took part, with one group doing regular exercise and the other group doing social activities. The goal was to see if exercise could slow the loss of functional ability.
