Exercise trial aims to reverse muscle loss in cancer survivors
NCT ID NCT07498985
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a supervised exercise program can help women who have had breast or gynecological cancer and now suffer from muscle loss (sarcopenia). The 78 participants will do resistance, aerobic, balance, and stretching exercises. Researchers will measure changes in muscle strength, mass, physical performance, fatigue, sleep, and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
supervised exercise training (resistance, aerobic, balance, and stretching exercises)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, drug-free way to help cancer survivors regain muscle strength and improve their quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 78 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise may be hard to stick with, and benefits might be modest.
