Exercise program aims to build stronger bones in kids with IBD
NCT ID NCT03774329
Summary
This study tested whether a guided physical activity program could improve bone mineral density in children and teenagers with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Researchers worked with 15 young patients who had IBD for at least six months, measuring changes in their bone density and activity levels over time. The goal was to see if regular, moderate-to-vigorous exercise could help counteract the bone weakening that often occurs with these conditions.
