Can a 20-Minute workout rewire fearful memories?

NCT ID NCT05203731

Summary

This research study aimed to understand if a short bout of exercise helps people with anxiety disorders better remember that a previously scary situation is now safe. It involved 54 adults with high anxiety sensitivity who completed a two-day fear learning task. Participants were randomly assigned to either exercise or sit quietly after the task, and researchers measured their physical stress responses the next day to see which group retained the 'safety' memory better.
