NCT ID NCT07346703
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will test whether taking a daily DHA (omega-3) supplement and doing therapeutic exercise three times a week can improve strength, fatigue, thinking, and quality of life in 100 people with multiple sclerosis. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: DHA alone, DHA plus exercise, placebo (sunflower oil) alone, or placebo plus exercise. The goal is to see if the combination works better than either approach alone.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) dietary supplement
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, non-drug way to help manage fatigue and improve physical function in people with multiple sclerosis.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with no blinding for exercise, so results may be influenced by placebo effects or participant expectations. DHA supplements are generally safe but may cause mild digestive issues.
