Summary

This study tested if adding the diabetes medication exenatide to standard nicotine patches helps people quit smoking more successfully. It also checked if the medication could prevent the weight gain that often happens after quitting. The trial involved 140 adult smokers who wanted to quit and were at risk for weight gain or diabetes.
