First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether a once-weekly injection of exenatide, a drug used for type 2 diabetes, can improve markers of heart and kidney health in people with diabetes and mild kidney problems. 57 adults received either exenatide or a placebo for 38 weeks. Researchers measured changes in blood and urine tests, as well as heart imaging, to see if the drug reduced stress and damage to these organs.
