Summary
This trial tests whether adding a targeted ultraviolet light treatment to a common antibiotic can better reduce inflammatory acne. People aged 15 to 35 with acne on both sides of the face will take oral azithromycin, and one randomly chosen side of the face will also receive excimer light twice a week for 8 weeks. Inclusion Criteria: * Male or female participants. * age 15-35 years. * Bilateral inflammatory acne involving both hemifaces, with clinically comparable baseline inflammatory involvement as assessed before randomization. * No topical or systemic acne treatment during the preceding 8 weeks. Exclusion Criteria: * Pregnancy. * Photosensitivity disorders. * Macrolide hypersensitivity. * Concurrent isotretinoin use or isotretinoin use during the preceding 8 weeks.
