New drug cocktail shows promise for Tough-to-Treat endometrial cancer

NCT ID NCT03008408

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase II trial tests whether adding ribociclib to a standard two-drug regimen (everolimus and letrozole) works better for people with advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. About 90 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the two-drug or three-drug combination. The goal is to see if the three-drug combo improves clinical benefit (tumor shrinkage or stable disease).

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

everolimus, letrozole, and ribociclib

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a more effective combination treatment for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer, potentially slowing disease progression.

What could go wrong

This is a phase II trial with only 90 participants, so results are preliminary. Adding ribociclib may increase side effects without improving outcomes, and the benefit may not apply to all types of endometrial cancer.
