Can a hormone pill block bad memories?
NCT ID NCT07419594
Summary
This study is testing if a single dose of the hormone estradiol can help prevent the formation of intrusive, unwanted memories after a stressful experience. Healthy female volunteers will watch a stressful film and then track any upsetting memories that pop up over the next few days. The goal is to understand how memories form after trauma, which could one day help guide new prevention strategies for conditions like PTSD.
