NCT ID NCT05282277

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether giving estradiol (a form of estrogen) can help perimenopausal women who started having depression, psychosis, or loss of pleasure during this life stage. About 100 women aged 44-55 will receive either estradiol or a placebo, and researchers will use brain scans to see how the treatment affects brain activity related to rewards. The goal is to understand if estradiol can ease these symptoms and improve quality of life.
