Scientists listen to the brain to unlock tremor secrets

NCT ID NCT02712515

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how essential tremor works in the brain and how deep brain stimulation therapy helps control it. Researchers recorded brain signals from 21 patients with essential tremor and Parkinson's disease while they were undergoing standard deep brain stimulation surgery. By analyzing these signals, they hoped to learn more about the brain networks involved in tremor and how the treatment affects them.
