Colon polyp showdown: which removal method wins?
NCT ID NCT03962868
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compared two procedures for removing large, flat colon polyps (over 25 mm) in 360 adults. One method, ESD, removes the polyp in one piece but has higher risks and costs. The other, EMR, removes it in pieces but is safer and cheaper. The goal was to see which leads to fewer polyps coming back and which is more cost-effective over 3 years.
