NCT ID NCT05822895

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing whether an artificial intelligence system called GI Genius can help doctors find more polyps during colonoscopy. Polyps are growths that can sometimes turn into cancer. The study will include about 764 adults having a colonoscopy at a hospital in Singapore. Researchers will compare how many polyps doctors find with and without the AI tool.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
GI Genius (AI-assisted polyp detection device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that AI helps doctors find more precancerous polyps during colonoscopy, potentially improving colorectal cancer prevention.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a randomized trial, so results may be less conclusive. The AI system may not work as well in all patient groups or may increase false alarms.
