Summary
This study will test whether the drug erdosteine, added to standard COPD treatment, can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. Thirty adults with moderate-to-severe COPD will take either erdosteine or their usual inhaled therapy for 30 days. Researchers will analyze blood samples to see how the drug affects immune and stress-related pathways, aiming to understand why it may reduce flare-ups.
