App-Based recovery program aims to get heart bypass patients home sooner
NCT ID NCT06786819
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a smartphone app that guides patients through a rapid recovery program (ERAS) can reduce time in the hospital after heart bypass surgery. About 480 adults in Brazil will use the app, which starts before surgery and continues for 30 days after discharge. The goal is to see if this digital approach leads to shorter hospital stays and fewer complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Digital ERAS platform (app-based protocol)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could shorten hospital stays and improve recovery for heart bypass patients, making surgery safer and more efficient.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage study focused on process improvement, not a new drug or cure. Results may not apply to all hospitals or patients.
