NCT ID NCT05327556
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compared two different doses of epinephrine (0.5 vs 1.0 mcg/kg) given to children in the intensive care unit for life-threatening low blood pressure. The goal was to see which dose raised blood pressure more effectively. Only 15 children were enrolled before the study was stopped early.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
epinephrine
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors choose the best dose of epinephrine to quickly raise blood pressure in critically ill children.
What could go wrong
This was a very small, early-phase trial that was terminated early, so results are limited. It only looked at short-term blood pressure changes, not long-term outcomes.
