Hidden seizures in Alzheimer's brain targeted by new drug trial

NCT ID NCT05899764

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called brivaracetam, normally used for epilepsy, can help people with early Alzheimer's disease or mild memory problems. Researchers suspect some memory loss might be linked to hidden seizure-like activity in the brain. Participants will have brain activity monitored and take the drug for a year to see if it reduces this activity and helps slow cognitive decline.
