First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at 150 people with coronary artery disease who had bypass surgery, comparing those with and without diabetes. Researchers measured the fat around the heart (epicardial fat) and checked how it related to death and heart problems after surgery. They also tested if a diabetes drug called incretin could improve outcomes by reducing this fat and related inflammation.
