NCT ID NCT06370637
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new barrier cream (Dermategrity Everyday Barrier Cream) that combines zinc oxide with a natural plant extract to heal skin damage caused by fecal incontinence. The cream is designed to protect the skin and block harmful enzymes from stool. Researchers will compare it to a standard zinc oxide cream in 40 adults over 14 days, measuring healing and symptom relief.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Dermategrity Everyday Barrier Cream (zinc oxide plus plant extract)
What this could lead to
If it works, this cream could offer a more effective way to heal skin damage caused by fecal incontinence, improving comfort and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The cream is not a treatment for incontinence itself, and individual results may vary.
