New study tests if a Clot-Removal procedure saves lives in severe brainstem strokes

Summary

This study looks at two treatments for a severe type of stroke where a large clot blocks the main artery at the back of the brain. About 518 adults will be grouped based on whether they received a procedure to remove the clot or standard medication. The goal is to see which approach leads to better recovery and fewer deaths.
