First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether using an ultrasound during surgery helps doctors decide the best way to remove endometriosis from the rectum. Ten women with deep pelvic endometriosis took part. Doctors performed an ultrasound before and after shaving off the endometriosis tissue to see if it changed their surgical approach. The goal was to see if this extra imaging could improve outcomes by guiding more complete removal when needed.
