First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tests whether a hormone-suppressing drug called Relugolix CT (Myfembree) can reduce pelvic pain, inflammation, and pain sensitivity in women with endometriosis. Researchers will measure changes in blood markers and brain scans in 130 participants over several months. The goal is to understand how lowering estrogen affects pain pathways.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Relugolix combination therapy (Relugolix, estradiol, norethindrone acetate) - a hormone-suppressing drug

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that hormone suppression reduces inflammation and pain sensitivity, pointing toward a better treatment for endometriosis-related pelvic pain.

What could go wrong

This is a Phase 3 trial, but it's still relatively small (130 participants) and focuses on biological markers, not just pain relief. Results may not apply to all patients, and hormone suppression can cause side effects like hot flashes or bone density loss.
