Blueberry compound joins hormone therapy in fight against uterine cancer

NCT ID NCT03671811

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding pterostilbene (an antioxidant found in blueberries) to the hormone drug megestrol acetate works better than the drug alone for people with endometrial cancer or precancerous changes. About 44 participants take the drug with or without the antioxidant before their scheduled hysterectomy. Researchers measure changes in tumor cell growth to see if the combination reduces cancer activity more effectively.
