Shock to the system: EMS may supercharge workouts for menopausal women
NCT ID NCT07385534
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding lower-body electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to resistance training helps postmenopausal women more than exercise alone. After menopause, women face higher risks of muscle loss and stiff arteries. The trial will compare three groups: EMS plus resistance training, resistance training only, and no exercise. The goal is to see if EMS can improve body composition, muscle strength, and artery health in a time-efficient way.
