Summary

This study tested whether a special education program that focuses on patient empowerment can improve self-management in adults with type 2 diabetes. Fifty participants were randomly assigned to receive either the empowerment-based education or usual care. The study measured blood sugar levels, diabetes knowledge, and self-care behaviors to see if the program made a difference.
