New study aims to help people with intellectual disability manage emotions better

Summary

This study looks at how people with mild intellectual disability process emotions compared to those with autism and typically developing individuals. It also tests a special therapy program to help them regulate emotions. 40 people with intellectual disability will take part in the therapy part, which includes 24 sessions over 24 weeks. The goal is to improve emotional well-being and reduce the need for medication.
