NCT ID NCT06977932
First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether electroacupuncture can effectively reduce pain in people with trigeminal neuralgia, a condition causing severe facial pain. The goal is to see if it can be a safer alternative to the standard drug carbamazepine, which can cause side effects like addiction. About 126 adults will receive either electroacupuncture or a sham treatment, and their pain levels will be tracked over 8 weeks.
