First seen Apr 13, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether electroacupuncture (acupuncture with a mild electric current) can reduce pain from shingles and lower the chance of long-term nerve pain. Researchers will compare it to medication alone or a fake acupuncture in 228 adults. All participants will still take antiviral drugs, and the study will track pain, healing time, and mood over 3 months.
