Needles for the mind? study tests ancient technique on memory and mood

NCT ID NCT07350226

Summary

This study is testing whether a form of acupuncture that uses mild electrical stimulation can help older adults who are worried about their memory and also feel down or depressed. Researchers will compare real electroacupuncture to a fake version in 86 participants over 8 weeks. They will measure changes in memory, mood, and brain activity using scans to see if the treatment helps and how it might work.
