First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests if a special type of acupuncture (electroacupuncture at Jing-Well points) can help people who have been in a coma or minimally conscious state for over a month after a severe brain injury. The researchers will use brain scans and behavior tests to see if it improves awareness. 66 adults with traumatic brain injury or stroke will be randomly assigned to get real or fake acupuncture.
