Zap to the future: can electric exercise boost aging muscles?

NCT ID NCT06689618

Summary

This small pilot study is exploring whether combining electrical muscle stimulation with light exercise can help older adults activate their muscles more effectively, as this ability often declines with age. Researchers will test if this approach improves measures of strength, balance, and mobility. A group of healthy older adults will participate in the stimulation exercise twice a week for four weeks to see if it helps.
