Could a simple skin test replace bone marrow biopsies?

NCT ID NCT07570056

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026

Summary

This study tests a painless, non-invasive skin measurement called electrical bioimpedance (BioZ) in 25 adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The goal is to see if BioZ results match findings from standard bone marrow biopsies. If successful, this could lead to a simpler way to monitor these blood cancers.
