Hunt for hidden clues in rare autoimmune disease
NCT ID NCT00315380
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to track disease activity in people with eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), a rare autoimmune disorder that causes asthma, high white blood cell counts, and blood vessel inflammation. Researchers will follow 700 participants over time, collecting blood and urine samples every 6-12 months to identify new biological markers (biomarkers) that can show how active the disease is, even when symptoms aren't obvious. The goal is to help doctors monitor patients more accurately and guide future treatment development.
