Can Posture-Focused exercises beat back pain?

NCT ID NCT07684118

First seen Jul 06, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding Egoscue-based postural correction exercises to standard core stabilization exercises provides more relief for people with chronic low back pain than core exercises alone. Participants, aged 25 to 55 with moderate pain and hyperlordosis (excessive inward curve of the lower back), will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The trial measures changes in pain intensity, disability, range of motion, and posture over the study period.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Egoscue exercises and core stabilization exercises
What this could lead to
If effective, this combination approach could offer a drug-free way to reduce pain and improve mobility for people with chronic low back pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (64 participants) comparing two exercise programs, so results may not apply to everyone. Pain relief depends on consistent participation.
