First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a protein called EG-VEGF in the blood of pregnant women could help predict serious conditions like pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure) and poor fetal growth. Researchers measured EG-VEGF levels in 142 women around 14-18 weeks of pregnancy. The goal was to see if this protein could serve as an early warning sign, allowing doctors to monitor and manage these risks sooner.
