New drug tested to halt sudden vision loss from nerve attack
NCT ID NCT06453694
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing if adding an investigational drug called efgartigimod alfa to standard steroid treatment helps people recover vision faster from a first attack of optic neuritis. The study will enroll 20 adults who recently developed moderate to severe vision loss from this condition. The main goals are to see if the drug is safe and feasible to use, and to gather initial data on whether it improves the speed and amount of vision recovery compared to a placebo.
