Smoking and morning hours: a surprising effect on your blood cells?

NCT ID NCT07625111

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how smoking cigarettes and the time of day change a type of white blood cell called eosinophils. Researchers will compare chronic smokers (who smoke at least 8 cigarettes daily) with non-smokers, all healthy adults aged 18-50. Smokers will have blood tests on two separate days—one with no morning smoking and one after smoking 8 cigarettes—to see how these factors affect eosinophil levels and surface markers.
